EXAM Tip: SURE PASS if not…

it's not my fault :D

i have a few friends who are going to take their final exams very soon. here's a tip that i want to share with you “weak” students out there. i, myself was a weak student. i dont have what it takes to be a top student. i do wish to be smarter cause it gives u lots of option when u can think better, in my opinion.

anyway, to those “weak” students that experience failure from time to time, below is a guaranteed TIP to make u pass (we are not talking about scoring with flying colors, just pass only). the tip is called “calculative common sense”. it works for essay type paper. trust me, it worked for me and my stupid… err… weak friends.

let say before an exam, u study a bit, not much while finding excuses to do group study but in reality u r such a lazy bum just like me. u'll probably read a few pages and your mind will stray. some students like to SPOT questions, which means, they tend to read those HOT chapters that people (students/teachers alike) think will come out in exam. let say you read half the book required for an exam, chances are, u'll be 50-50 at passing the paper. so, when it comes to essay type of paper, it usually ask you to choose and answer 4 out of 6 questions OR 5 questions out of 7 questions, and passing mark is around 45 to 50. my method is:-

tip: answer 4 out of 6 questions OR answer 5 questions out of 7 questions. no more AND no less.

example: if the paper gives u 6 questions and u spot 3 questions, dont answer only 3 questions WITH ALL FOCUS and ALL YOUR MIGHT. it's useless. ANSWER 4 questions. reason below.

reason: why i said u have to answer 4 questions even if you only can answer 3 questions? 1 question worth 25 marks and usually for “weak” or “average” students, our usual best is getting around 15 to 20 points. if your current best is getting about 15 points for each question, dont WASTE anymore time trying to squeeze in answers that u think might give u more points. the best u'll get is probably another 2 or 3 points. what's the big deal? u'll still gain about only 18 out of 25. GET OVER IT and move over to the 4th final question. let say u answered 3 papers in your best ability, u'll probably get about 15+16+17 = 48, u still fail! choose the last question to answer based on the leftover 3 questions which u can't answer. if u know u can't gain point/marks, at least u can gain 5 or 6 or 7 out of 25 points per question, right? remember earlier u read half the book?

so what do u get in the end, let say u get 15+15+15, u'll probably earn another 5 or 6 or 7 points on the 4th questions, that will total up to 50 points and above.

i saved myself so many times during exams. it's not what u read is important, it's what u write on the paper (DURING THAT EXAM MOMENT) counts. even if u study long hours, u might not be able to answer. but remember: answer all questions requested, no matter how hard it is.

my result usually 52, 54, etc. duh… when i took my MIS (management information system), i never FAILED a single EXAM paper in my 3.5 years of study. but i crawled through a few papers by using “calculative common sense. i still remember i was so weak in a system design paper that i dont know what to do about it. in one of the final year exams, it asked “write data flow diagram of a process order” or something like that. u know what i did? my answer:

order
|
V
[order processing] – (yes) – [order completes] -> customer
|
(no) – [ order reject ] -> customer
i think everyone knows about how to process an order, right? eg, u ask the music shop, “hey, i want to buy uglymen CD”. the shop owner obviously will answer “what? dont have lah… blue film want or not?”. then u draw whatever u think can make up the “processes” for other people to understand.

    listen to Uglymen CD while you are studying, this guarantee you will pass.

    must listen very loud, or else it means you have hearing difficulties.
