while working in town area today (in one of the private hospitals), i met up with the creative experimental guitarist Ah Cheong from Hui Se Di Dai having lunch at penang best char koay teow stall at lorong selamat with his girlfriend. it was a surprised to meet him there… well, thinking about that, whenever you bump into your friends in some place, you'll sure say “what a surprise”… kekeke…

anyway, he was telling me that they are no longer going to perform regularly at church street due to budget requirements and stuff. however, he and a few friends had planned to open up — a gigging place cum jamming studio cum recording studio (how so many cums here…). what the??? well, it's a new place for indie bands like us to perform/gig and have fans/friends enjoying the music. simple. it's located at 60, weld quay. opposite penang jetty, further down at shell petrol station. it's going to be ready in 2 months time if things go smoothly as planned. make it 3 months for give and take.

so, what does it mean? it means there will be a place for indie bands to gather around and play music to people. if you guys had enough of packaged pop songs (eg, uglymen songs ), u'll be able to see lots and lots of new and exciting stuff. it's experimental, alternative and out of this world music which some of you may find it outrageous or not your cup of tea but hey, it's a healthy creative hobby.

who's working on it? well, it's cheong and his girlfriend, the vocalist from 3A and wai kong (the guy with lots of hair and likes to listen to me singing PCC for him… and he'll fantasize after that). cheong is investing in a RM1,000+ soundcard for recording purpose, wai kong provides equipments and all of them gonna paint the place soon, arrange the hall area, decorate it and make it awesome. these are people with HEARTS!!! it's a small place where fund comes from these people. the place can accomodate between 40 to 50 people. and this is what people will do in order to achieve what they truly love in life.

i have told him that we'll be promoting this event as much as we can on our website since it brings more people with a common interest closer than before.

in the meantime, if you guys got used drum sets, guitar amps, bass amp, keyboard amp, P.A. system OR monitor speakers to sell

, please let us know. the guys wanna purchase these musical equipment for their gigging studio.
