since i was off-duty and off-study for the weekend, i have to rushed whole bunch, and i mean really really a lot of work to be done in the coming days, which I have to cut my sleeping hours to perhaps… 4 hours a day for the next 2 or 3 days.

this post was written in the way of “write-as-what-i-remembered”, so chronology of events might be mixed up.

-Met many friends, esp Ten and Rambo, who were active in uglymen.net all this while and i finally got to see Rambo, sad to say i had to leave very early. Rambo will be on his way to Germany soon, all the best Rambo, and make sure you bring all your armours to shoot down some hot chicks, and yeah, you can enjoy the heat of World Cup soon there.  But i guess the tickets for matches were either already sold out, or sipek expensive.

-Leow and Wei were most helpful at all time during our stay at the weekend. Thanks to both of them. Esp Suan is just starting to pick up drums, these two really burn the fire for us.

-Fauzi (last year Malaysian idol top 15), we met him, chat for about 45 min @ Asia Cafe. He is very humble, very polite and we wish him all the best in his “One In A Million” adventure.

-Ric, the LongLongNetBiz tauke, he was with us for the two-day stay, sacrificed CHelsea vs MU to see us play, well, he did the right thing after all… Thanks Ric, I will be waiting for you at the A Star bus station on 19th May 5am.

-Met Dream Machine guitarist, cool! Let me know if you have any shows on with your new line-up

-Met Jenhan, he was hosting an official event for the first time and i must say this lad is definitely on the right track, he tackled situations well, lit up the atmosphere, and responded spontaneosly on sudden incidents, looked very confident and i am sure he enjoyed hosting the show whole night through. Thanks JenHan

-All performers on that night gave their best, some caught my extra attention esp, The Dawn, Kania vocalist, Concert Band (oh, Ric made a very good remark on one of the band members), Fauzi. Others also did well but i was waiting for some friends and going in and out of the hall, i must admit i missed many parts of the show.

-Crowd was great, decoration simple and nice.

-Thanks to our own Uglymen.net Happy Tan on doing her best, being the busiest, and most industrious on making the show a success, including turning up the heat when UGM were on stage. She was the sound-man, panel controller, follow-spot controller, event coordinator, sampah collector after the show,….. i must have missed out many things more….

-and off course, not forgetting to mention the organising team, congrats on the success of this event

-Finally, the one thing that let-down the whole show was ~ The PA SYSTEM, it MUST be one of the worst, if not the WORST, in my performing experience for more than 13 years now. Specification not met (equipments supplied not as quoted), sound crew unexperienced, did not know how to troubleshoot on-spot issues, bad equipment positioning, monitor which has NO SOUND?? WTF?? I relied completely on the house speakers when playing “Canon In D” as there was not a single note from the stage monitor. Bad Amps, the Marshall’s condition was worse than an aging terminal AIDS patient. A walking-drumset, which we had to find some ropes to tie the drumset to  chair for stopping it from moving from behind and dropping off the stage. I heard the PA System provider said Line-out from amps are better option then miking the amps. Well, this summed up how bad and unknoledgeable is the PA system provider. One of the crew finally found out my guitar volume was way too soft after we had played 3 1/2 songs of 4, and took up a mike to the stage to mike the ill marshall amp, and well, he unintentionally kicked the guitar effect adaptor and the current went off, that was ENTER SANDMAN going into guitar solo, what a time to silent your guitar.
The rental cost of the PA was RM3k, which was surely too expensive. However, a lesson learnt well and i hope the organisers or any gigs organiser in Subang will not fall into this CON by the PA system provider again in the future.

Oh yeah, perhaps you wanna ask me who the hell is the PA System Supplier, i cant really tell you here as i fear for my safety, as i heard from people organising the show the PA guy is very fierce and unreasonable, i better keep my mouth shut.
