This is an important annoucement: I am leaving Uglymen

It is Official!
With effective from 9th May 2006, i will no longer be the guitarist for Uglymen.
Any wrong notes, bad shreddings, punctured solo on Uglymen performace will not be liable to me.

I will be reliefed off all guitar duties and no longer join Uglymen in any jemming session, performance and shows, interviews or watsever…

To all Uglymen members, i did not email you guys initially because I wanted to announce this to everyone at the same time.

I hope you guys dont TL me when you read this, my heart is so heavy, my fingers are almost numb when typing this post.

But i just have to tell every one here….

This adventure has come to an abrupt end today.

Off cos, missing me in the band doesnt affect much right.

I discussed this with many people and majority of them supported me to leave the band for good.

Again, i hope everyone understand…

 

Anyway, i want to thank every one who supported us all this while. But everything beautiful (like me) must come to an end one day. I will cherish every moment together with Uglymen.

At least we have recorded our UGLY album, the experience and memory will go down with my history forver, i am sad too, but i have to leave, no choice. I hope every one understands.

It feels so hard of making this decision but some how, some time, some one has to make it, and i am truely proud of my decision and life just moves on, sorry everyone.

dragon radio owner tony reno called me for an interview and we spoke about UGLYMEN and how we met and got together. it lasted for 10 minutes and i was a bit nervous. he's having a live TV interview tonite and he'll mention our band and play 10 seconds of “Si Ai Bin”.

So, have you read the newspapers these few days, esp THE STAR, everyday also saying 01-02-03-04-05-06?

Do you know what's that? It's very simple, this is a very rare occation in a hundred years, the next time it occurs will be during the year 2106, that time i think my great great grand children will be living on Mars and competing in the Battle Of The Bands with competitors from Pluto, Moon, Venus, Earth….

So, this rare occation basically means it will be 1am, 2 minute, 3 seconds, 4th of May (05), and year 2006. And more importantly, special dates always coincide with special imporatant moments. 01-02-03-04-05-06 also means 1 hour, 2 minutes and 3 seconds into my birthday. So, to celebrate my birthday, THE STAR newspaper also will be giving away some Ogawa products (read THE STAR for more details) and in few KL and Penang area, there will be some count down for my birthday too..

As i am an easy-going guy, i dont mind accepting any type of gifts from you guys, it can be Samsung MP3 player, Ipod MP4 player, Sony DVD-camcorder, Fender Guitar, Line 6 effects, Hughes & Kettner Amps, or even just a RM10,000 IBM think pad, anything will do, i dont mind. It can be as expensive as RM280,000 Toyota Innova Import Edition or as cheap as RM1000 Sony Ericcson 3G phone, no problem at all…

Tomorrow 4-May is handsome Michael's birthday. Let's wish him “happy birthday” !!!

tonight we had our first practise after a hiatus of 3.5 months without michael since he’s not able to come up to penang because his classes were cancelled. we are preparing 10 songs for the birthday bash where 7 of these songs are from our album, 2 cover songs heavily modified and 1 cool song. ah hooi brought his 1960′s fender precision bass guitar while i nearly broke my fingers doing all those string bending playing was a bit loose but not as bad as we expected. some parts of the songs were forgotten but in the end, we (hooi, jiunn and i) were satisfied with the practise. my left fingers are sored now… sigh…

there will be a stage prepared for the birthday bash, lighting and cameraman crew consisting of mr beh beh.
