P/S: There are some errors in this post, i tried in vain to clear the repetitions of paragraphs and some photos were scrambled up. I think WORDPRESS problem.
Takizo was hacked two days back, maybe is security problem. As you can see other previous post, the fonts and colours all gone short short liao…
A total of 7 bands from music school and my beloved Itosii performed a great show yesterday.
It was the very frist time I can sit down and enjoy bands playing since i wasnt the emcee. But still busy hopping like monkey to take photos. Actually, i wasnt so keen on coming as this is the only day i could have full rest without lessons (school or private) for more than a month!! But, hey, Itosii was playing and i invited them, tak kan i wasnt there to welcome them meh…
So, at 7.55pm, i carried my lazy axx and rode my bike to MS. It was already 90% full the mini auditorium, and the first band was just about starting to flex their muscles. For some reason, the PA setting was a little better than passed shows through out this year.
P/S: I duno if i got the band sequence correct, i dont have the band list…
1) BERNOUTTI
Cikgu Man was playing bass for the band as their bassist had gone AWOL. Frankly, throught out the band performance, i only concentrated on what Cikgu Man was playing. Noticing the notes he adlib-ed between chords, and how he positioned his fingers on diffrent parts to create dimensions. He had too much to offer, excellent as ever! OK, let’s get to the main act, the main attraction of the band was no doubt the guitarist (Mohd Amru, duno if correct), he was going full force and well deserved my applause for his great show. One setback was I could hardly hear the notes he played because of really bad tone (amp or effect setting). With this load of talent Amru has, he should start writing his own material and look for a decent band to play with. Syabas!
2) ???
Yih Ping sang much better than his last adveture. Yong Hooi gave a steady backing vocal support, and they were overall much better than the last time i saw them play. Still, one unforgivable huge mistake in the band, whether you are using your own instrument or borrowing from some one, you SHOULD tune your guitar before going on stage. Nuff said.
3) THE BEGINNER
This band wrote their own songs and played quite well. With Teoh Satriani Bee Kean and Han Jie in the band, you could expect a more mature performance conpared to the first two. Couldnt hear what the vocal sang though (ha! just like me, everytime when Uglymen perform, everyone also say cant hear what i sing) cool! The songs they wrote were nice pop numbers. But arrangment wise has miles to go… keep it up!
4) BANDAGED FRIES
I could not really pay attention to the band as Mr Law (Itosii’s manager) arrived. Was standing at the entrance discussing Itosii upcoming performance in Bukit Mertajam. But still managed to take their nice photos before I went out of the room.
They played two songs, Kiss Me & Skater Boy. Kiss Me was really good (heard from outside), but the Skater Boy must have fell off his skateboard. Bad timing and off-pitch vocals, sounded like jemming for the first time. Sorry guys, I like to comment more on the BAD part and i dont reserve any of my opinion, it’s for your own good. I look forward to see a more steady performance in the future.

5) Bedroom SocietyI was busy preparing Itosii’s performace, sorry. Anyway, the band comprises Aaron on drums, so you can put your money on a firm and solid timing throught out.was busy preparing Itosii’s performace, sorry. 6) Itosii

(in mandarin)
Hello, How are you every one? *Phak!*,
We are Itosii band *Phak! Phak*, Ketekak Ketekong tung tung tong tong tong tong tong…..
Cin TL nia, semacam Uglymen, kekeke…. guess like students, like teacher huh.
The first song was Malaysia Boleh (every time i listened to this song, i laugh so loud, u know la, Malaysia Boleh ma.. kekeke…) Ok, back to the song, they improved by a few miles since the last time i taught them in MS. Iki’s playing was funny though, he was like just taken 10 estacy pills and then banged the drums like he never played before, since the cymbals are too high up for him, he stretched to the full and hantam the cymbals like hantam-ing the head of the guy that took his ice cream away… kekeke….
The second song was Beautiful Sunday, the song they played on TV last week in the Rentak Juara final. They were very daring (no, not taking off clothes la) they were swinging and appeared to be very relaxed. But one thing i am going to tell them in the next lesson: try not to memorize your speech. Ivy, as the band leader, spoke as if she were looking at a script.
The third song, to my surprise, they played Missing You, the famous pop rock song from the very famous band who sold less than 500 CDs WORLD WIDE ~ Uglymen. I dont remember I altered the chords in the songs but they played some what diffrently in the intro part. Lastly, Ivy, if you read this, please remember to take your ZOOM effect to me the next lesson, the ZOOM was a mess yesterday.
This one is for you: Missing You!
7. The Little Peanut
I’m sorry, couldnt be there to sit down and listen
8. The Phats
Still, i didnt have the chance to watch properly, but i would say i like this band the most, for the whole night. They sang Put Your Hand On My Shouder & Dream Dream. And emcee for the night Daniel, was also the vocalist for this band.
9. Sweet Havoc
I’ve seen sweet havoc played many times, what a shame again i could not listen properly as i was sending Mr Law back. However, I believe they put up a good show too. Ganbate!
And to top it off, some awards were given away to the following students as well:
Outstanding Performance for
Guitar : Tan Chin Sing / Hoo Yee Ping
Bass: Damiel Kuilan
Drum: Joel
Keyboard: Faiha
Piano: Koey Eng Yeow

Itosii autographed photo, wa got lo, lu got bo…ha ha… ai chai la… kekekeke…
