cause they were either working in setting up the stage at changloon last night or performing together with us or just enjoying the show. bwahahaha…
the trip to changloon (not changlun) was a blast. thanks to hamsap (aka 'horny') ric for driving metal sow and myself to changloon. he drove up to our doorstep in his CLK 850 (Cute Little Kancil) and fetched us. what a good friend. of course we had to pay the petrol and toll charges ourselves
we actually missed the place when we reached changloon. we drove 180 km/hour past the junction and tried to find our way back… but it was at another far interchange that we finally “U” turned our way back… scary. we were seeing board that “bukit kayu hitam
” is just around the corner. kekeke… luckily we dint see any tanks or army… kekeke.
the biggest landmark in changloon is of course the C-Mart — the place where we were supposed to perform. 3 bands scheduled to play starting 8pm. the “soft” stage was “erected” in the middle of a busy farm of stalls. LUCKILY the place was filled with clothes and stuff for sale… or else the place will look too empty. bwahahaha… what a crowd. we had 40 people watching (sound crew, performing bands and friends). most friends came from alor setar. ric specially drove to see us from KL. we loved him so much we wanna suck his babana, arh arh arh…
first band to play was UGLYBOYZ, trained by our hensem michael lee. they were ok overall. it was their first show. of course they were nervous. but alas, they delivered the goods. i'm always into youngsters picking music instruments to learn and play. it gives enormous amount of fun and mind stimulation… ohhh….
2nd band to perform was SIGNATURE. we haven't seen them play in a while. they had 2 drummers. the first drummer to play was the drummer from local band HAZE. that band HAZE original guitarist still owes michael money. leh mak, if you read this, quickly pay up. @#$%^&*. i can't recall the drummer's name (he can sing well too). after 2 songs, teik hong came to take charge the skin bashing job (drumming) while the first drummer took the microphone. i can see that the bassist, ah chen grew a lot of hair like myself. honestly, SIGNATURE was still outstanding. nice sound balance overall and good performance. they SHOULD compete in the coming asian beat competition this year. what a waste if they do not compete.
our turn to play:
1. missing you – own
2. super horse – cover – sam hui
3. take me out – cover – franz ferdinand
4. enter sandgirl – cover – metallica
5. robot – own
6. fool – own
7. hai kuo tien kong – cover – beyond
8. this song is only 3 words long (domido) – own
(we dint play “ciak kaki” as i was not ready to sing YET. i'm still sick, remember? excuses, excuses…) kekeke…
overall, i had a good time and i remember hitting 3 bumped notes (wrong notes). hooi had the worse time. the first note he played on his bass, the sound was like … err… can you go to any public toilet and looked inside the stall where people shit? haaaa… that was the sound like. the sound was like speaker cracking. michael did not have a good sound as well. the sound was breaking up. the monitor speakers on the stage were giving up pops and cracks. and the stage was SOFT. we can't jump. it will break cause we are quite slim with our weight. i had a good time playing last nite… the first time it felt so good after 3rd time performing as a drummer. i thank metal sow and mike for tolerating my drums playing… what i know is playing “dum chak dum chak” all the way… kekeke…
by the way, we took some photos last nite… 3 of us… we'll share with you guys. the photos are in mike's camera.
thanks to muzik sistem for the supper, sound crew and all friends alike… 40 of them.
last but not least, congrats to suki for winning ONE IN A MILLION. like i said last week, faizal should get the lowest vote and he did. but the 8TV show decided that letting 3 contestents in the finals will garner more $ from the sms votes, which they did. in the end everyone was happy except faizal and alif
