i have become a monster of late… been out of action from uglymen.net for about a week. our (my day job) healthcare system went live for a private hospital but things weren’t as smooth as it should be. everday, one of our servers will die. it’s either the application dying or the report dying or the database will slug like a turtle for a simple checking on whether paracetamol was on the shelf.

things haven’t been smooth for me for the past few weeks i.e. car broke down needing repair, family member hospitalized (again this week), long working hours, stain of flu still linger on me, apartment neighbour demanding renovation $ cause his kitchen has water leakage (and i am supposed to pay up), no time to practise the drums, increasing credit card debt, work stress and pain-in-the-butt working partners. all this have changed me to into a monster with extreme short and hot temper. i was shocked at how i have become. i realized that i have changed for the worse and need to wake my senses before i became permanent with such disease. i was not myself.

last week was nothing but work from morning till 9pm/10pm. a few days were until midnight and once until 4am. i can’t believe how i have changed from senses to senseless. now that our system has gone live, we (our colleagues) still need to be around for the next 3 months onsite to stable up things before we move back to the office. you guys wont imagine how stress it was when the system went live a week ago. i have to MAKE SURE that the servers are running fine without any problem. in fact, we hit problems everyday and at any one time, i have to work with two monitors; one is to monitor the application/database servers, the other one is report server + database activities including in-depth servers’ activities. my blood pressure went up especially monday and saturday where there were huge wave of patients thronging the hospital. registrating and keeping track of such patients in the hospital was our system’s responsibility.

good news is: we may be playing in KL in november but depending on the availability of the other bands/gig place. we have cancelled one gig in alor setar on 3rd november cause i can’t make it due to …

more gig to come soon. ah hooi will be arranging one and hopefully we can play in penang soon.
