old friends

we had our band practise session at our state-of-the-art keow teow factory in jelutong penang. the studio owner, ah yong was there to see us jamming. ric was there as well. ric is making a comeback in alor setar. he's moving his career to jitra, kedah while he let his partners run his FORTUNE 500

printing company in kolompo (KL). we had dinner and support with both of them. been a while since we grouped together and had such a long and fun chat.

as usual, we practised our 2 new songs to ah yong and ric. we did some old songs and sang some beyond cover songs. :) was a blast. then during supper… we got to know that metal sow gay hooi joined a secret society in penang. we all got shocked. michael got truly upset and betrayed. metal sow even showed us his “membership” card. starting from that point, michael was pissing off @#$%^&* whole night. bwahahaha…

the leader of this secret society is a very educated person but but but… i'm not sure if he can articulate well. i saw this leader gave speech a few times and i personally think ric speaks more eloquently than him. bwahahaha…

singapore, here we cum

that's right baby… the date is set at the Esplanade, we are going to play in singapore again, thanks to the organizer patrick ch'ng for inviting us back for a 2nd exciting gig. this time, we are going to do something different. hopefully, we can pull it off nicely. everyone has been busy and i guess 3 of us has to sleep less in order to squeeze some time out from our already busy schedule.

date: 21-february-2007 (4th day of chinese new year)

time: 8pm onwards (2 sets)

venue: open air stage, esplanade, singapore

we are getting in more gigs around town and it should be happening soon. if you guys wanna know what is taking up our time… let me share with you:

- myself: supporting hospital, servers, a newborn boy and always ask metal sow to catch songs and practise his bass guitar.

- metal sow gay hooi: a runner in a new project and doesn't want to practise his bass guitar and uses his time to give false soccer tips to michael.

michael: berklee special music course: music arrangement. donating money to charity based on metal sow's tips. latest charity organization is barcelona.

we are planning to change our music direction. we think that our current heavy metal music style is not heavy enough. we think, think and think. what is heavier than metal? aha! that's right, we are going to play “heavy titanium” next time. what can be heavier than that? @#$%^&*

Raffia to the rescue!

Last Saturday, i was on myway to work on my bike, suddenly, i felt “so nice and relax”… hmmm.. what happenned huh?

My belt broken!! (am i getting fatter? probably yes)

So, without my belt, i cant walk, bcos u know la…. pants will come off and traffic will be at a standstill as every lady driver stops to enjoy watch… hmmm..

Since i was late, i did not turn back to home to change but went to a sundry shop near my working place for help…

Ta dah!…

which one is cheaper…

that's the famous line from the Terminator movie. i have been extremely crazy and busy. nearly lost my mind, nearly got myself into a car wreck, 2 bout of migraines (taken celebrex to relief myself), exhausted, skipping from work, nagging from old folks… @#$%^&* i want to bantai them all.

i hope u guys dont miss me too much while michael keeps entertaining u guys for a few days. i got a few photos of our baby using my paria henfon (nokia 6230i) but i can't seem to activate my notebook bluetooth. last time can, now cannot @#$%^&*. i'd probably getting dumber i guess. i try to see what i can do to get things loaded up for u guys.

more gigs coming in. the earliest gig will be in alor setar on 4th november. there might be a gig in penang in december but we yet to talk to the organizer.

stay tuned guys, we'll be back soon.

by the way, i just got to know that nearly all our friends surf our website daily cause i had all of them contacting me via sms, email, phone wishing me “congratulations on your newborn pussy

How far can you take on the F word?

The F word, ok, i have to write it in full here, FUCK.

Literally, many people take it as an insult, offensive, rude, mindless, un-educated (put in other descriptions u think here)….

However, whether you like it or not, the F word has become a slang or even a culture. It is equivalent to our own famous hokkien “lu ma xxx xxx, chao xxx”, singapore we have “Wa Lao” (now trade mark of Uglymen song), and we hear some other funny stuff like “leh mah le…” “Kanne” “li ma pong piak” and “throw your mother's shoe”…

Some people like to say “what the tut!” tut depicts the voice for the word “Fuck” being censored on TV…

I came to the idea of writing this topic bcos i read this piece of news about Barbara Streisand, the super diva with one of the sweetest voice in the world, uttering the F word (in an entertaining and joking way) in her concert in New York.

Well, for us Uglymen, we take those words to even higher level, cos we know it is not offensive, it is a way of life, so we also call some of our friends by the name of.. eh… like… cixxx hooi…. kekeke

you might want to know how cute we came around with this name for him…
