I’ll keep this short and let you guys enjoy the photos rather than taking your time reading my lengthly never-ending techincal comments.
- 12 groups particiapted in the finals (preliminary held a week ago)
- All members contributed to the show
- Event well organised with some minor hiccups
- Acc guitar, Elec guitar, Bass, Keyboard, Piano, drum (using keyboard), bongo, tambourine, Er-Hu, Shaker
- Overall music quality was very average, much improvement must be done
- Only 2 songs caught my attention in truth

My personal choices were (after thinking and thinking….):

2nd Place: Hey You
3rd Place: 胜利燃烧
Best Melody: 带刺玫瑰
Best Lyrics: 胜利燃烧, 爱 遗言
Best Arrangement: Hey You
Best Performance: 带刺玫瑰
Top 6: 爱 遗言, Killer, 完美的小鬼
but total marks and discussion accumulated from all 3 judges ended up as:
Champion: 胜利燃烧
2nd Place: Hey You
3rd Place: 爱 遗言
Best Melody: 带刺玫瑰
Best Lyrics: 爱 遗言
Best Arrangement: Hey You
Best Performance: 带刺玫瑰
Top 6: 带刺玫瑰, Killer, 不再
I chose 带刺玫瑰 as champ because the song is going places, good build-up, nice melody, splendid singing but poor ending.
Hey You came a very close second as this was the most outstanding song of all, jazzy chords synchronizing nicely with a single vocal. 胜利燃烧 came in third as the vocals (two lead singers) were overlapping each other and cutting each other in and out with no proper dynamic control, keyboard was annoymous.
It’s been hard when you are the judge and you have some sort of connections with some of the contestants, as bias, unfairness are easily built up if they win some thing. I must state here, the results above are from 3 musicians and all of us cant agree more to the final decisions, it was totally professional decision. Unfortunately, all winners here are known to me… kekekeke…
