today working is so stressful… nearly had a word (argument) with a senior manager… damn i tot he’s supposed to help our team but then… he’s also as stressed as me to deliver the goods to customers. some arrangements are not running as planned and some expectations weren’t met but the opposite is being expected from our team. we have to deliver the goods. IT (information technology) career is the WORLD LAMPHA #1 MOST STRESSFUL CAREER. you can read it anywhere and you wont find any job more stressful than IT.
and u guys know how i de-stress? through music!!! that’s why when it comes to tuesday night, i will be ripping the jelutong village apart with our music. music is our escape and we need heavy music to bash our heads to release the stress. my parents always say… and i mean always nag me why can’t i play some decent music like pop songs… @#$%^&* well, if i were to play pop songs, our band will probably disband like 10 years ago. some of u guys may not understand why we play so called “noisy” music cause it calms us. my brains need some makeover… just like people having beer at the end of the day to relax.
i also deal with people who are experts in IT. today i deal with such person. this person is a very technical person and knows IT very well (supposedly). i try to tell it as easy as i can so that you guys can understand why my work is so STRESSFUL. i have a work coming up and this work is to install a software into a BIG computer server. this software is called ORACLE and it needs to be installed in a UNIX server. usually UNIX server is used in BIG factories or corporations.
so, it means, my work is to install ORACLE into a UNIX server. very BIG computer server which cost many thousands of dollars. i asked this person ABC to find the Oracle software for me in CD to install and this person agreed. ABC finally calls me today:
ABC: mr ong, do you have a DVD player in your notebook?
me: yes i do, why?
ABC: because the oracle software is too big to be stored inside a CD, it is 1.6GB is size. it needs to be stored inside a DVD-ROM
me: errr… i think should be no problem cause my notebook can read DVD.
ABC: good…
me: hey!?!! why do you need my notebook with DVD player for?
ABC: well, aren’t you going to install the oracle software?
me: yes, i am. i am going to INSTALL the oracle software INTO the SERVER, NOT into my notebook.
ABC: ….
ABC: oh really?
me: (@#$%^&*)
me: yes, you do not need my notebook DVD player to install the oracle software.
ABC: oh i see, thanks then.
ABC: (hang up phone)
