famous 70's 80's even 90's local band Alleycat's member Loga Arumugam, succumbed to lung cacner this morning.

uglymen.net pay tribute to one of the rare long lasting band who made it to the top in Malaysia. not many today's teens know that Alleycats were one of the famous bands back then and they were signed by PolyGram (now defunct) records back then. constanly touring in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia among other SEA countries. Alleycats released 29 albums.

“巷子貓”改寫馬來樂壇歷史
楊立群與洛加最投緣

“巷子貓”樂隊前製作人楊立群，對洛加納登的逝世深感惋惜。

楊立群表示，最后一次與洛加聯絡，是今年農曆年后，當時他咳得很厲害。

“洛加與‘巷子貓’創造的歷史，是無法抹煞的。”

楊立群說，當初與洛加結緣是因寶麗金唱片公司欲設立本地唱片部，于是他四處物色人選。巷子貓是該公司在1978年成立本地部時，慧眼識英雄簽下的第一支樂隊。

后來，楊立群還成了他們專輯的製作人，這一合作就是10年，所以楊立群與洛加可說是相識快30年的老朋友了。

華巫印合製專輯

楊立群說，“巷子貓”可說改寫了馬來樂壇的歷史。“團員主要都是印裔，製作人是華裔，灌錄的卻是馬來專輯。”

該專輯不但大賣，還贏得口碑，當時很是轟動。雙方的合作關係長達10年，直到楊立群轉司行政工作。

直到另一個10年的1998年，洛加再找上楊立群，何希望他可以再為“巷子貓”的新專輯充當製作人。當時楊立群很忙，但對方表示可以遷就他的時間，于是造就了《Di Lorong Kucing》這張專輯。

楊立群跟洛加如此投緣，除了兩人都愛玩音樂外，同時也都很愛看書，很多話題可聊，感情也比其他成員深厚。
