UGLYM3N = GAYM3N

kampar was a blast. the atmosphere was relaxing and so far, this venue has the best sound among the 4 venues that we played so far. the last gig that we will playing for this merdeka gig is at bukit mertajam, penang next saturday. location is jit sin secondary school. i was told that they have a big hall, fully air-cond and built for acoustic performances. should sound  interesting.

the kampar trip started slow and soundcheck was just average. i didn’t get to use another cymbal stand and it wrecked my playing a little bit. anyway, the sound that we got that night was the best so far and our performance was just average, in my opinion. even though the town is small, but they had a lot of coffee shops and other business shops. this trip is the most relaxing for me — i’m not sure about others. all i knew is that 8 of us cramped into this big hotel room and talked about dirty jokes all nite. we have two kids from uglyboyz on this gig, quite an experience for them. kampar was relaxing with lots of food and lots of cars. there’s lot of teenage girls too, some with gothic make-up, some with S.H.E. style etc. on a sunday morning, there’s people all around the little town, amazing. we can see some merdeka convo in their big jeeps with flags driving around town. and we got to some drunk ass sipping industrial grade alcohol along the drain. when we first reached kampar, we ate the all-famous-meal of all time: kentaki fried chicken…

at night, there were only 2 bands performing: wolf fangs(signature) and ourselves - played some classic songs and our song. the crowd was quite huge but the response was lukewarm. the crowd in kampar was quite reserve and shy. we hope the crowd in bukit mertajam will be crazier. the gig next saturday will see bands: life station, mf5 (our friends from prai who also competed in the b’beyond competition in 2003), wolf fangs and ourselves. we get to perform 4 rocking numbers. this is going to be our last gig for the merdeka gigs, see you guys there. ah beh recorded our performance and let’s see if mike has the time to cut it out and put on youtube. cheers everyone!
