Shao An & Shi Min, emcees for the night.
In appearance order…
8.40pm Uglyboyz
9.20pm Signature
10.05pm The Beginners
10.45pm Gimme Five
11.30pm Prologue
It was raining since early evening while we were conducting sound check for the performing bands.
Unfortunately, when the show was about to start, not 3, but 4 tweeters and speakers blown up, and the sound was pretty bad as we could not change the system in time.

Uglyboyz were a little shaky as they got to know at the very last moment as their slot will be changed to number 1, were supposed to play 2nd slot but Signature could not make it. Uglyboyz played 10 songs, not really impressive and made many mistakes. And they were clearly not used to perform 10 songs at one shot. Hope the next day will be better. Chin Sing's vocal as good as ever but i hope he has noticed how bad it is every time when he turned and look down at the frets, the vocals gone. Maybe u shud look at how James Heatfield perform.
Signature was good, powerful and solid, but as they started to play, the rain came pouring down, not too heavy though, we still have bunch of supportive people sitting down to watch, and i couldnt help notice an uncle sitting down with his helmet on the whole night…. haha… good supporter lo uncle, anyone knows who he is?Â

uncle with helmet….
The Beginner was up next and they played 10 songs with varieties of english and chinese pop rock.
Gimme Five continued and i think this is a very very good exposure and experience for them, in time to come, they'll be better.
Prologue was the last to appear, what a shame some crowd were leaving already, Yih Pin played some kick-ass solo on M2, and the band played nicely, including Japanese song from Takeshi Sorimachi, Thai song from Bird, rock version of Xiao Wei and so on….

nice crowd wearing nice t shirts!! although UGM was not performing, but it was so pleasing to see UGM supporters here.
What i learnt from this show:
1) ensure bands do not sing same songs, there were 4 clashes, mean 4 same songs were played twice by different bands, and another song were played 3 times by 3 different bands (Zi You was played by The Beginner, Prologue, Signature). This is my mistake, i hope as i write here, i'll remember no repeat errors…
2) highly shortage of techinal crew, i suggest there would be at least 3 people stand by on stage, it was a pain in the ass working alone up there. I din know there were NO other crew available. There were some time delay before The Beginners perform as all the cables they brought were not working, drums needed drum key (i thought drummer should have one in hand always), well, i managed to see off the problems though…

watchful eyes… ok, i know i look stupid
3) Time slot. As my boss told me we can start from 8.30pm – 12am, i allocated 45 minutes for each band, then after the show i notice it was a very very bad planning. First, bands tend to get tired (signature did not), and they tend to gradually show their weakness, tireness and inconsistency after about 5 songs. Secondly, crowd could get bored with the same stuff. And lastly, how many of the crowd would sit down there under the rain from 8.30pm to 12am… So, i called up all the bands performing the second day and re-arranged their time slots…
4) For all guitarist using power adaptors, they must have at least a key, test pen, or 3 pin plug in hand, and must not wait for stage crew to plug in one by one. good guitarists should not rely on crews… i think limpek cucuk here and there whole night…
ok la.. write until here first, here are the photos, enjoy.
