guys, our friend from malaysia music online, ENGBOK has just opened up a new music store at farlim business center in penang. u guys can try it out there and best part is, they are putting in high end gear for you guys to play with.
here’s an original email invitation:
i just setup a music store with jamming studio in Farlim Business Centre and selling behringer gear. Me and the distributor is organising a free jamming session to let band player experience high end behringer gear including their stack Amplifier and cabinet. It is called JAMMAX free jamming.
The Date is from 22 Oct until 3 Nov. Time is 10am to 10 pm. Venue is at Farlim business centre.
I would like to invite uglymen to come and experience the equipment and write down your comment about the gear. Meanwhile, would you guys mind to help me spread the word? i am calling all the northern region band however the news only spread within my small click. I know you guys know plenty of band kaki and i really look forward to get more people know about it.

Uglymen, since turning 3 piece back in 2006, are going to perform in Penang for the first time (though they have their weekly private performance for a small group of close friends near Jelutong in a small hut sponsored by a kind soul by the name of ah yong). Uglymen are really looking forward to this show as they will be performing for the Penang crowd as a 3-piece band, a complete change from the last outing in Penang, for the very first time.Â
Drummer Tai Suan has strived like never before to achieve where he is now on drums and still, in great crave for more improvement, a respectable level in such a short period; Say Hooi has since been practising his bass week in week out, and has even taken up more parts in backing vocals and started to share more lead vocals to ease the workload of lead vocalist michael; meanwhile, michael has also gone through huge changes in his guitar playing, combining both rhythm parts and each song's signature solo part which must be played, he still sucks at times, but the will to achieve perfection is always there.
Uglymen will be delivering familiar numbers on that day, including some trade mark Uglymen songs plus famous rock covers.
Eclipse, the newly formed band from alor star, who are backed by Uglymen, will also have their first performance in Penang, and only their second performance overall in their short history. Eclipse, formerly known as X-malaysia, handpicked by music teacher michael, from a pool of students to front this all-gal line up. Their passion for music and live performances was the main drive behind the reason why this band was formed.  They are Yuna, UCL, and Shida (not performing in this show). Wacth out for their own blend of JRock music. They will also join force with Uglymen in one of the widely-applauded ugly numbers.
While Uglymen are down with illness, workloads and michael's life being turned badly upside down; Eclipse are also going through some tough patches in both career and school exams. Still, they will try the hardest to bring their best to Penang.
So, dont miss out and come together, enjoy the show!

Some health tips which are useful for all of us .

*1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not
show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion.
When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in
their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect
the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size. *
2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person's
lifetime.
3. When the person's immune system is strong, the cancer cells will be
destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumours.
4. When a person has cancer, it indicates that the person has multiple
nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food
and lifestyle factors.
5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and
including supplements will strengthen the immune system.
6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells. It also
destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastro-intestinal
tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs
etc.
7. Radiation, while destroying cancer cells, also burns, scars and damages
healthy cells, tissues and organs.

8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor
size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in
more tumor destruction.
9.. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation
the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can
succumb to various kinds of infections and complications.
10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become
resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to
spread to other sites.
11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not
feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.
*CANCER CELLS FEED ON: *
*a. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important
food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal,
Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural
substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts.
Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in colour. Better
alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt. **
b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the
gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and
substituting with unsweetened Soya milk cancer cells are being starved.
c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic
and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork.
Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites,
which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.
d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts
and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About
20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juice provide
live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels
within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain
live enzymes for building healthy cells, try and drink fresh vegetable juice
(most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3
times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40
degrees C).
e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine. Green tea is
a better alternative and has cancer-fighting properties. Water – best to
drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in
tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.
12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive
enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines become putrefied and
leads to more toxic buildup.
13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering.. By refraining from or
eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer
cells and allows the body's killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.
14. Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Flor-ssence, Essiac,
anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc.) to enable the body's own
killer cells to destroy cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are
known to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body's normal method
of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or unneeded cells.
15. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive and
positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger,
unforgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic
environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and
enjoy life.
16. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising
daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular
level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.

Pay attention to the facial expression of Iki (the drummer) Uglymen is going to meet them again thie coming 25th October, and i will go to cubit his face again… wahahahaha…. so far he is one of my cutest students… but at the moment, the cutest must go to Chia Kok Chew… i wil post about him in future…

last nite, we had a concert for 6 hardcore guys; fleaman, leow, ah chai, ah pow and another 2 guys whom i have forgotten their names. sorry man. 9 bananas in a cramped room with an overworked 1-horse power air-con. very hot, very hot.
it was actually our weekly band rehearsal and our friends came to have fun with us. a pity that uncle beh beh was not there. it was a blast because we went for supper after the live concert to celebrate fleaman’s belated birthday, which fall on the same bird-day as our bassist, metal sow (ah fen, u read this?) 
anyway, this month, we have 3 shows in penang. yeah! this is the first time, uglymen (3 piece version) is performing at penang island. 13-oct , 25-oct at nibong tebal for some fund raising activities and 27-oct at bukit jambul as guest band for the annual yamaha asian beat band competition penang/kedah/perlis region. more details soon.
