Dreamtheather play pinkFloyd’s cover “darkside of the moon”

I got it couple weeks ago…After listen to it, I feel that Dreamtheather is a band very “Open Minded”; they won’t limit theyself into a trend of music and keep on learning even at their present status, they are pro in rock&roll…still keep learning..and rocking….

 Why I write this shit out? becoz’ I felt that more and more ppl come to ugm.net and read on some stuff..and I want to show off….no no no…it’s not the point here…I acutally love band sound a lot and watching a lot of bands perform and listen to their Cds, DVDs and etc…I found out bands in here normally they will stick to one root…Let say they like Metal(not hooi okie) they will play Metal only; in their mind already set for Metal; but they seldom think of how to improve themself by listening to various type of music and observe and learn from the listening.

I have Dreamtheather’s Cover - Master of Puppet as well; but let me write about this darkside of the moon first.

When you talking about PinkFloyd music, you are not talking about speed, sweeppicking etc etc… its about MOOD, FEEL. I dunno how many ppl here listen to pinkfloyd’s music…For me, when I listen to PInkfloyd’s music Pink’s music will bring me fly till high high, no drags needed..dun worry it’s totally 100% illegal….That’s the magic of music, pinkfloyd can create such FEEL — the magic!!!

Dreamtheather play darkside of the moon of coz’ technically without any mistake…no mistake at all…but dreamtheather cannot create the Pink’s Feel; instead they created dreamtheather’s feel on those songs like “speak to me/breathe”, on the run, time and etc etc..all those pink’s tunes…

It is a great experince for me to watch how Dream specially john petrrucci improvise his guitar playing on those tunes..its not an easy task but some of the song John had done a superb job…now on air “echoes pt.1″(bonus disc) john had done a very very very beautiful job on the solos….On the other, on comfortably numb featuring Queensryche; the solo I prefer more orginal’s play by david gilmour… David Gilmour can play simple pentatonic and the notes will bring you to hell or heaven(the magic)!!!

Comfortably Numb is not in darkside of the moon album but in this dreamtheater’s cover it has a bonus cd that collected this song in it.

you check both bands out, how dreamtheater carry out the song so well so nice!!! but the solo part I prefer david gilmour’s!!

In here I want to share to you all fellow rockers including Mike, Suan, Hooi and friends who really can rock&roll ones; Dun limit yourself in MUSIC playing!!! Playing the music and dun let the music Play you… The best rock&roll School is play covers…

IN dreamtheather’s Systematic Chaos the lastest work, I can find other’s elements inside it this album, dreamtheather play other’s and learn and digest others’ music.
