the passed (past? confused) three days was absolute stoooopid, instead of enjoying a 3-day 5th week lay-off, use it to chase songs and practise piano / guitar / mark assignments, i have been sleeping, eating, and watching DVDs… fuck, i want my life back.
(not april fool as claimed by my members) p/s: yesterday, we met a lot of vip in flamengo pub, got one is state deputy CID, ah thye (drummer) introduced me to him… and the first thing he asked me was: “your band won a competition and went to taiwan right?”
today also marked the 5th anniversary of Leslie Cheung's death, he was such a pure talented singer /musician. A serious lost in the HK music industr, just like the departure of wong ka kui…
after playing in pubs for about two weeks, as i slowly picked up more and more songs (about 100 songs so far), from mainland china, hong kong and taiwan, i noticed one thing…. most modern, recent hong kong pop songs are craps… lame arrangment and stupid melodies…china not bad (some also quite meaningless) and taiwan has MUCH better quality among all, off course we dont compare with the super ang moh kao music and japanese killer songs. The hk glamorous 80's 90's has long gone…no wonder my pro musician friend from malaysia working in hong kong told me hong kong music scene is dead. and there is no surprise, most taiwan, hong kong artist employs malaysian musicians for their live show such as the great lewis pragasam, andy peterson….
but wait… hong kong music scene is reviving… thanks to edison, many foreigners now also know about hong kong entertainment industry, bcos through edison, about 13 female stars shone under the spot light liao….
