i had a chat with my previous boss. he’s working in one of the factories in prai area. the current economy slowdown hits us quite bad, at least in penang. here’s our conversation this morning:

Spansion force to take leave (5 days in this quarter)
Jabil planned shunt down from Dec 24 to Jan 4, will be 6 days leave.
Agilent planned shunt down from Dec 24 to Jan 4, will be 6 days leave.

It’s really a slowdown in economy..however not the worst situation yet….factories would carry a few ways to prepare for the crisis…so there may be expected of cut of OT, no salary increment, shutdown and so on….and it impacts worldwide…because if a company ABC will have soft orders demand, that means procurement site will have low orders from supplier…so suppliers will be impacted too…
