headache…. fine fine bands…

it's been super hectic weeks since few months back, as i have so much work piled up, classes, lectures, songs, uglymen album preparation, and even album reviews… i am posting this in between classes in muzik sistem.

last week was Yamaha Asian Beat Band competition (or Pertandingan KUMPULAN MUZIK) which is another stupid joke from local bandaran people, which i would be more than happy to put it up in another post some later dates.

so, this prestigous band competition has been absent in alor star for two straight years after .

this time round, 19 bands participated (turned out 18), in the first round on 17th Jul at muzik sistem and 18th Jul at Flamingo Club.

what was different compared to almost 3 years ago was, the competition was fiercely contested with huge improvement and increase of standard of musicality.

10 bands were chosen to enter the finals from the heats on friday, so here are some photos for you to enjoy and the results.

Best Costume: Shock Wave
Best Drummer: Rocha
Best Guitarist: Crafttonez
Best Bassist: Wind Rising
Best Vocalist: Crafttonez

all top 3 bands will compete in the upcoming national finals on 16th August 2009 in Kuala Lumpur at the Beach Club near KLCC.

Best Costume: Shockwave's effort paid off, left is Shannon from Yamaha KL.

Best Bassist: Haris, right is Gee, former Search bassist, and the famous NRG group

Best Drummer: Suhaimi, right, legendary Cikgu Badrul

Best Guitarist: mr Blues mustang sally, clear favourite, left, OOF Kelvyn Yeang

Best Vocalist: mr Blues again, sweet sweet voice, clear winner.

Dewi Kayangan: the only chick in the compeition, metal stuff.

Crafttonez: pleasing the crowd. very entertaining and smooth flow vocals and guitaring,
they will be back stronger than ever with their own composition the next time. The vocalist
won Best vocalist and Best Guitarist, he is also a fantastic pianist.
